Medium - Australian recycled pure uncoated copper with discarded beads being a vintage handmade ceramic beads from Kilimanjaro and Czech crystal beads.
After completing the Chile Landscape Series of light shades, the artist has explored coour blocking for a stricking effect.
This light shade is made using a solid copper plate machined to ensure the flow of the copper wires. The centre hole is sized for fittings that fit E27 globes and can be adapted to fit the smaller and older style of B22. Both sizes are standard sizes used in Australia.

Copper is a magical natural product. Copper does not rust however it will age if subjected to different conditons. The changing of colour in copper that can happen over many years is often desired however if the piece is polished with any of the many polishes available, then the colouring may not appear.
