Light Shade

Medium - Australian recycled pure copper uncoated, recovered beads from discarded jewellery being mainly glass.

A commission to create a pair of lightshades in a similar style to ‘Zing’ Egg Basket led to the creation of the ‘third’ larger light shade at the same time.  The fun mix of green and orange is one of my favourites, so I made an extra shade.
While a simple mix, a lot of recovered jewellery has been required to harvest enough beads to complete the three light shades.
The light shades are made using a solid copper plate machined by my husband so that the copper wire can fall in an even way.  The centre hole is sized for fittings that take E27 globes and can also be adapted back to the B22.  Both sizes are the standard sizes used in Australia.
